Students from iconic Istanbul high schools participated in aid distribution in Urfa Akçakale under Hasene's guidance, meeting their refugee brothers and sisters.
Aiming to transfer the awareness of social aid and solidarity to the younger generation, Hasene brought together students from Istanbul’s elite high schools in Akçakale, Şanlıurfa.
A delegation of 42 people, including students and teachers from Kabataş Boys' High School and Istanbul Boys' High School, and volunteers, participated in the 3-day project coordinated by Hasene Manager Ömer Söyleyenoğlu. Within the scope of the program, the youth personally accompanied the distribution of 5,000 food packages in the town of Akçakale, gaining the opportunity to witness field operations firsthand.
Project Focus: Empathy and Awareness
The main goal of the program was to enable youth to witness not only the financial aid but also the living conditions of the refugee population in the region and the challenges of on-field coordination. In addition to the distribution, a workshop on migration and refugees allowed our students to merge theoretical and practical knowledge.
Hasene will continue to develop and diversify such education-focused field projects which have been received with great interest and excitement by our youth—the leaders of the future.
